Hi, this blog entry is for those PP members who live in British Columbia, Canada and it's about a possibility of coverage for biologic therapies in the new BC health budget.
- FACT: Psoriasis is a serious chronic skin disease that affects greatly people who suffer from it.
- FACT: For many people biological treatments have been proven to be very effective in treating their psoriasis.
- FACT: The biologic treatments are expensive. Many psoriasis sufferers cannot have access to these treatments because of the high cost.
- FACT: Currently, British Columbia Health Plan does not cover biological treatments for psoriasis as some other Canadian provinces do.
Do you think that the Provincial Health Care Plan should cover biological treatments for psoriasis?
If yes, would you consider writing an email petition to the provincial Minister of Health asking to include the coverage for biologic treatment for psoriasis in the new 2009 budget?
The provincial 2009 budget was released on Tuesday, but the details of this new budget and its health care portion are still being finalized. Honourable George Abbott is The BC Minister of Health. His email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org
It would help if you CC your email petition to your MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly).
